FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND TRAINING
Practical and financial support will be made available to you if you become a foster carer. This will include an allowance to cover costs, tax relief and help getting a State Pension.

FOSTER CARER ALLOWANCE
Foster carers are free to spend the allowance on food, household and travel expenses as they feel benefit the child most. The carers receive additional payments for other essential items for birthdays and Christmas.
The benefits of Foster Care are mostly not effect as long as they are fostering.
DO FOSTER CARER PAY INCOME TAX?
Many foster carers now pay no tax on their earnings from fostering. Foster carers can be exempt from tax on all or most of their fostering income depending on: how many children they look after, whether or not it is a full tax year, whether or not there are other foster carers in the same household. The benefits of Foster Care are mostly not effect as long as they are fostering.

ON-GOING TRAINING FOR FOSTER CARERS
All foster carers are reviewed every year and receive any training that is needed to ensure they can continue fostering. They get regular visits from their own supervising social worker who offers advice and support. ANSACARE offers an on-going training programme and different activites to help foster carers to offer a high standard care and safety to the children they are caring for.
